Imagine a world where our food choices help heal our planet, our communities and us as individuals.
Our journey began in 2015 in Ningbo China as part of a life long passion of founder Denise Bradford to bring wisdom on healthy living and saving the planet into reality.
This led to the vision and establishment of Essential Wellness Center, a community support network to help individuals and families achieve their goals and share a passion of loving and preserving our planet for future generations of all species.
Denise saw a need in communities to address rising health epidemics, worsening environmental and climate degradation. However, she recognized that most lifestyle changes by an individual were extremely challenging and often failed as an endeavor. At the core of addressing this issue was paying attention to the family unit and providing the community support to make the transition to sustainable lifelong habits of whole food plant based living.
What we’ve done so far.
Since we opened, we have helped bilingual national medical conferences at our center on reversing disease and included speakers such as Dr.Xujia from the Physicians Committee for Responsible medicine. We co-hosted a healthy family-healthy planet and plant based nutrition conference at the University of Nottingham in December 2019. We featured doctors and specialists from international backgrounds and had an attendance of over 400 people.
We are a young company - recently launching our signature 28 day group coaching program which has evolved into ‘How not to die’ plant based group coaching program that is suitable for individuals, families and corporate and commercial groups. Our students and clients come from diverse backgrounds of all ages from around China and the world.
The Essential Wellness Centre team has been researching and teaching plant based knowledge for decades. Our greatest desire is to empower each one of you so that you feel confident in having the skills and the knowledge you need to keep you on your journey.
Denise went ‘Plant-Based’ in the 1980’s after reading “Diet for a Small Planet” by Frances Moore Lappei. She was working as a nurse when she made the acute observation that patients were unwell because they had made poor lifestyle choices – primarily diet. Diabetes, Heart disease, Autoimmune disorders and other degenerative diseases were common. It became obvious to her that when patients made changes to their way of eating, they had far better health outcomes compare to those who did not. From that day forward – helping others to change their way of eating to one that was Plant-Based and healthier became a passion for hers.
Denise studied under Dr. Campbell in his “Plant Based Nutrition” program which is run through E-Cornell University. She also studied under John Robbins, author of “Diet for a Small America” as well as the International Association of Wellness Professionals (IAWP). Denise became allied with The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and Doctors for Nutrition Australia. She has been teaching plant based knowledge for over 40 years, and has been a practicing coach for six years.
